Research Experiences

I obtained my Ph.D. in October 2005 in organic chemistry at the "Laboratoire SONAS, UPRES EA 921, Faculté de Pharmacie d'Angers, France" (director Prof. Olivier Duval). The field of my Ph.D. thesis was organic synthesis of benzo[c]phenanthridines derivatives and their bio-conjugaison to Quantum Dots (fluorescents nano-crystals). I studied a wide range of synthesis methods and upgrade knowledge I learned during my Master in Molecular Chemistry obtained in June 2001 at the "Laboratoire d'Électrochimie - UMR CNRS 6509, Institut de Chimie, Université de Rennes 1, France" (director Prof. Jean-Pierre Hurvois). I had to use further analytical techniques such as 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, 2D-NMR spectroscopy, Mass Spectroscopy, Fluoresent Spectroscopy, AFM, HPLC and CCC.

In 2005, I started my first academic post-doctoral position in the "Institut de Chimie Moléculaire de Reims UMR CNRS 6229, Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne, France" (director Pr. Janos Sapi) where I synthetized nitrogened heterocycles (indoles derivatives) under micro-wave heating in dry phase.

I changed the scope of my research in September 2006 during my second academic post-doctoral position in the "Équipe Théra, LG, UMR CNRS 6219, Faculté de Pharmacie d'Amiens, France". Indeed, I studied Quantum Chemistry and Molecular Dynamics with Prof. François-Yves Dupradeau. Since September 2007, I am Assistant Professor (French Maître de Conférences) in this laboratory and I am interested in empirical force field development, atomic charge derivation and molecular dynamics studies in implicit and explicit solvent conditions of bio-inorganic complexes such as iron ligands. I found a lot of interest in this scope of research since it combines orgnanic and inorganic chemistry, biology, physics and computer science area of expertise. I then have used my skills in programming to write some useful scripts, and upgrade my knowledge in biology and physics.
